London’s V&A East Storehouse has officially opened the new David Bowie Centre, showcasing more than 90,000 of Bowie’s personal items, from handwritten lyrics and sketches to costumes, instruments, and unseen artifacts. Visitors can also book one-on-one time with items from the archive through ‘Order an Object’ and dedicated appointments with the V&A Archives team.
The Centre offers a rare look into Bowie’s artistic journey and cultural impact, now preserved alongside half a million works housed at the Storehouse, including the Glastonbury Festival Archives and pieces from artists like PJ Harvey and Elton John.
The David Bowie Centre is located at Stratford in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Entry is free but ticketed, with new ticket releases every six weeks.
